Test Name:
IGHV Somatic Hypermutation Analysis
CPT Code:
81263
Turn Around Time:
3 – 7 days
Clinical Application:
Evaluates the mutational status of clonal IGH rearrangements by comparing the patient specific clonal IGHV sequence to germline IGHV sequences. The Somatic IGHV hypermutation status is an independent prognostic value in patients with CLL.
Diagnosis.
Methodology:
Deep sequencing of the Immunoglobulin Heavy Chain Variable region by NGS.
Requires presence of a clonal IGH rearrangement at 10%.
Specimen Requirements:
RNA-based assays
Peripheral Blood: Minimum 2 mL in EDTA (purple top) preferred or 2 mL in sodium heparin (green top)
Bone Marrow: Minimum 2 mL in EDTA (purple top) preferred or 2 mL in sodium heparin (green top)
Storage and Transportation:
Please store and ship specimens at ambient temperatures.
Ship RNA-based assays within 24 hours for optimal results.
Please refer to our full specimen requirements at Hematologics/Specimen Requirements for additional information and for directions on the storage and shipping of extracted DNA or RNA.
