Medical and Scientific Liaison
Dr. Blain is a Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellow of the Canadian Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed her MD and her pediatric postgraduate training at Université de Montréal, and then her pediatric hematology/oncology postgraduate training at the University of Ottawa, during which she developed a strong interest in the laboratory aspects of hematology. She then completed her pediatric hematopathology fellowship, with special focus on flow cytometry, at the Princess Maxima Centre for Pediatric Oncology in Utrecht, The Netherlands. She recently joined Hematologics as Medical and Scientific Liaison, building stronger bridges between hematopathology and its application into daily clinical decision making in the care of patients with cancer. Her research interests include classification of rare leukemias, optimizing the integration of diverse laboratory technologies into leukemia classification, and integrating and standardizing hematopathological components into large oncological randomized clinical trials.
