Test Name:
ETV6::RUNX1 t(12;21)
CPT Code:
81401
Turn Around Time:
24 – 72 hours
Clinical Application:
Detection and quantification monitoring of the ETV6::RUNX1 (TEL::AML1) fusion transcripts, which are the molecular result of the t(12;21) translocation, associated with favorable prognosis in ALL.
Diagnosis and monitoring.
Methodology:
Real-Time Quantitative PCR. Minimum sensitivity: 0.01%
Both, the ‘long’ and the ‘short’ type, ETV6::RUNX1 (TEL::AML1) fusion transcript, are detected: 1) ETV6 exon5::RUNX1 exon 3;
2) ETV6 exon5::RUNX1 exon2.
Specimen Requirements:
RNA-based assays
Peripheral Blood: Minimum 2 mL in EDTA (purple top) preferred or 2 mL in sodium heparin (green top)
Bone Marrow: Minimum 2 mL in EDTA (purple top) preferred or 2 mL in sodium heparin (green top)
Storage and Transportation:
Please store and ship specimens at ambient temperatures.
Ship RNA-based assays within 24 hours for optimal results.
Please refer to our full specimen requirements at Hematologics/Specimen Requirements for additional information and for directions on the storage and shipping of extracted DNA or RNA.
