Clinical Application:
Detection and quantitative monitoring of the KMT2A::MLLT1/KMT2A::ELL fusion transcripts, which are the molecular result of t(11;19), the common 11q23 (KMT2A) translocation in acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Diagnosis and monitoring.

Real-Time Quantitative PCR. Minimum sensitivity: 0.01%
This assay detects the KMT2A::MLLT1 variants (KMT2A exon 8/10::MLLT1 exon 2/7 and the KMT2A::ELL variants (KMT2A Exon 8/9::ELL exon 2/3.
Specimen Requirements:
RNA-based assays
Peripheral Blood: Minimum 2 mL in EDTA (purple top) preferred or 2 mL in sodium heparin (green top)
Bone Marrow: Minimum 2 mL in EDTA (purple top) preferred or 2 mL in sodium heparin (green top)
